Bergen Community College Foundation
A Foundation board member since 2013, David has worked to raise money for scholarships and capital improvement projects. He has also played a critical role in managing their largest event.
Upper Saddle River Historical Society
CFO for the society since 2016. Dave has helped organize their finances and improve the budgeting process. In addition, he also helps organize their events to help develop a better sense of history within the community.
Culinary Hobbyist
Dave has long been an amateur chef whose rice recipe was featured on the web as early as 1996. Lately, he has taken up an interest in smoking and fermenting food, brewing his own beer and making pulled pork, brisket and even pastrami.
Triathlete
In 2018, Dave was asked to race the swim leg for a relay team in the 2019 Atlantic City IM70.3. During the event, he became convinced he could do all three segments, and began training soon after, eventually joining RTA Triathalon. While the pandemic cancelled all of his planned races in 2020, he has kept training and is looking forward to showing what he can do when racing restarts.
Sailing
For over a decade in the early 2000's, Dave was an enthusiastic sailor, racing boats with the Eastchester Bay Yacht Racings Association and an associate member of the City Island Yacht Club. Unfortunately, as his family life changed, Dave found he could no longer spend days on end bobing around on the Long Island Sound.
Technical Theater
For nearly two decades starting as a teenager, Dave was involved in technical theater, building sets, hanging lights, sound, costumes, anything to support the show. Working with Theater for the New City's Street Theater program is an especially fond memory.
